Toni D. Driver's Background and Educational Qualification

Toni D. Driver was born and raised in Alvarado, Texas.  After graduating fourth in her class at Alvarado High School in 1987, she furthered her education at Austin College in Sherman, Texas.  While at Austin College, she earned a bachelor of arts in history and a bachelor of arts in political science.  For the year following college, she worked for Habitat for Humanity in East Dallas.  In 1992, Ms. Driver entered law school at St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, Texas.  She graduated cum laude (top 10%) in 1995. At St. Mary’s, she acted as the Executive Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal where she was published twice: 25 St. Mary's Law Journal 753 and 26 St. Mary's Law Journal 203. She also was a member of the John Harlen Society and Phi Delta Phi Honor Fraternity.

Professional Experience

From 1995 to 1997, Ms. Driver worked for Cox & Smith, Inc. in San Antonio as a litigation associate in the areas of securities law and employment law.  In 1997, she decided to return to her hometown of Alvarado to enter private practice.  Over the last 20 years, she has specialized in family law, providing a broad range of services to adults and children.  She is also a mediator in family law and serves as an amicus attorney and attorney ad litem for children in Johnson County.
